Method:
Visual assessment of one side of the body from a distance not exceeding 2 m (including head/ears, shoulder/back/neck, tarsus including hocks, hindquarter including carpus, flank/side/udder, tail). The inner side of the opposite hind leg is included, but the inner side of the front leg is excluded.
Skin lesions are defined as damaged skin in the form of a scab or wound with a minimum diameter of 2 cm at the largest extent.
Lesions Score:
- Score 0: No visible skin lesion (>2 cm) on any body part; hairless patches are not scored
- Score 1: At least one visible skin lesion (>2 cm) on any assessed body part
Classification:
The percentage refers to cows with a skin lesion score of 1.
